Four items we are following this summer

  • 2026 BUDGET
the BMRA will be pushing to see serious efforts made at identifying Core vs non-Core activities, and realize substantial cost efficiencies through the budget development process.

  • WASTEWATER
Significant work is underway to address system capacity issues,
as well as an overall drainage plan for TBM.  We met with key staff on June 30th and are awaiting a report from the Town on the progress being made.   We will continue to monitor developments and and update our members.

  • PLANNING RESPONSIBILITIES
There are planning functions, including subdivision approvals, currently done at the County level that the TBM Planning department has recommended be shifted to the Municipality. The BMRA is supportive of this proposal, and if it goes through, we assume that our County tax levy should be reduced by an appropriate amount in recognition of the work no longer being done by Grey on our behalf.

  • STRATEGIC PLAN
We will follow up with the Town's Director of Strategy, Tim Hendry, to determine what further involvement is available for the BMRA, and whether an information session of some sort with our members could be arranged.

We look forward to providing more details as they emerge/end of summer/early fall.
