Official Plan Review (OPR):

The Meeting Dates are moving to Fall

Last week, we shared with our members communications from the Town regarding public workshops that had been scheduled for July and August on Phase 2 of the Official Plan Review.

The BMRA, as well as other community stakeholder groups, expressed concerns to Town Staff and Council regarding the scheduling of those OPR workshops.

Recognizing the intent is to engage Town residents and solicit their input on critical aspects of the Official Plan Review, conducting these sessions in the heart of Summer, with limited time for participants to review the subject matter background papers, was clearly far from ideal.

We are pleased that the Town was prepared to reconsider their original plan, and we can confirm for our members that all Official Plan Review sessions that had been scheduled for the Summer will now be pushed back to the Fall.

When the Town has confirmed the new dates for the Official Plan Review public sessions, we will share that information with our members.

Regards,

BMRA
